Summer is on its way...

About two weeks ago I got my first sign that summer is on its way: I got a sun burn. It wasn't anything too bad. The back of my neck between where my shirt stopped and my hair line started was a nice bright pink. Usually this particular spot doesn't get burned because of my long hair. However, on that day I was riding with all my hair tucked inside my helmet to keep me cool. Unfortunately, the result was that for a week I couldn't turn my head without feeling the disconfort of my hot, raw flesh being unwillingly pulled in a direction which it did NOT want to go. I don't know why each summer I submit my body to the mercy of the sun at least once before I decide to wear sunscreen. I supose the truth of the matter is I've never been able to tan, and I'm probably the eternal optimist when it comes to this issue. Each year I think "I'm going to go out and get a beautiful sun kissed body." Instead I come back looking like an angry crab. Oh well, I've learned to live with this fact, but that can't stop me from hoping!
