Who's Editing Our Music?
Hey y'all! Let me tell you a little story. The other day I was driving around in my car, listening to a well-known pop radio station here in the Dayton area (94.5), when I heard something intriguing. It was a song. Not just any song, mind you, a fairly vulgar one. As I listened I realized why I found it just so vulgar: it sounded as if no one had edited the song for radio play. Let me just show you what I mean. The chorus goes: "Shake that as* for me, shake that as* for me." Except the singer was actually SAYING the word on the RADIO station! Ok, ok, so someone just forgot to put in the edited version, right? I mean, everyone makes mistakes, but NO! The song went on to say, "I heard that you were freaky from a friend of mine" "He told me how you like it from _______" The word behind had been edited. So, no question the song had less than kosher material, but who in their right mind decided that as* isn't a cuss word and shouldn't be edited, but behind was! I don't know about you all but I've been using the word behind since I started talking, and according to this song, I've been cussing like a sailor. I guess I just should have been saying as*, since that is apparently appropriate. This strange word choice left me with only one question: WHO'S EDITING OUR MUSIC????
