Meg Alert!

The name affectionately bestowed upon me by my brother when I was little. Yelling this nick name out would get my mothers attention and warn her that I was "up to something."

and God looked at the horse, and saw that it was VERRY GOOD

God created dogs to bark and bite,
He cre
ated cats to scratch and fight,
He cre
ated fish to swim in the sea,
but God cre
ated horses just for me =)

Did you like th
at little poem? Ok. So, it's not that good, but I was inspired....I just learned something very insteresting and exciting. You ready? You're not ready...take a minute...ok, now are you ready? Baylor (the school I'm attending next year) has an equestrian team....but wait there's more. Not only is this the first year they've had the team, but they also ranked 8th at Nationals! Wow! I'm so impressed, and in a way intimidated. I can't wait to get down there and start jumping again. To be honest, I've really missed it. However, with a team that good, I'm a little nervous about try outs. To reduce this fear I've taken up jumping lessons once a week (at least doing this reduces my fear of showing off my not-so-fit body for the whole Baylor team to see). By the time I get down there, I should be in decent shape and have my eye back, if nothing else (for those of you not up to date on horse terms "having an eye" means being able to see how many strides the horse is going to take between two fences). Well, this is just going to be a short little post. Everyone who reads this needs to cross their fingers that I'll make the team and possibly even get a scholarship. Thanks bunches!

Breaking away from old routines

I have an announcement to make....I want to be happy. I know this sounds trite, but for the life of me I don't know why this has all of a sudden become such an important goal. Most of the time my life's like this: I go about my daily life with short term goals which I feel are imperative to my existance (ex. taking out the trash, cleaning, going to school, etc.). However, I have come to find that at the end of the day these things don't make me happy, or perhaps more acurately, I don't see the joy in them. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is I'd like to start fresh, and allow myself to seek happiness in every endeavor instead of seeking out small goals which become stressful endeavors. For this reason, I have taken a leaf out of my brothers book (or more specifically, his blog) and decided to break the chain of depressing posts by doing something copletely unoriginal and finding the fun and joy in it: filling out a chain letter.

*This is the only article of jewelry you will never see me without. It is a bracelet made of the tail hair of my beloved horse Madison.
**Unfortunately this particular goal may never be met simply because the bedroom is so overcrowded and has so much stuff that can't be squeezed in a closet that it is seemingly a "mission impossible."
